About Wigston...

The Borough of Oadby and Wigston adjoins the south-eastern side of the City of Leicester and is the smallest, in area, of Leicestershire's nine districts.

This strategic position in the centre of the county gives the Borough good road and transport links. The trunk A6 road passes through Oadby and the A5199 from Leicester to Northampton traverses Wigston, whilst the A563 allows easy access to the M1 and M69 motorway systems.

Numerous bus routes connect the Borough and several of these also serve the main railway station at Leicester, a station served by high speed trains to London and other cities. South Wigston Station is served by sprinter trains, giving a five minute rail journey into Leicester and a service to Coventry, Birmingham and Nottingham.
